Yoga News Winter 2008

Hello everyone. The fall term is quickly coming to a close with classes finishing on December 20th. This means it’s time to start thinking about the winter session.

We hope you have learned a lot this fall and enjoyed the process your classes have offered you on this yoga journey. Corina, Gillian and Perri thank you all for continuing your commitment to your practice and letting us be your guides. We have thoroughly enjoyed the detailed, structured approach to classes and look forward to continuing to explore many new topics in the winter months.

WINTER SESSION begins January 7th. The schedule will remain the same with one minor change:

Thursday 7:15 will become a LEVEL 1-2, suitable for all those who have completed the Beginner course and are ready to expand their postural repertoire.

Friday 9:00-10:00 General class will be offered again, but only if we get the minimum registrants.

Please register soon by visiting the web page www.yogawithperri.com and either emailing your registration form or print it and bring or mail it, along with your check, to the studio.

A reminder: All classes are subject to cancellation when minimum numbers are not enrolled. Notification of cancellation will be emailed no later than January 5th.

Viniyoga is the correct application of yoga for the individual.

Regular and consistent daily practice is how the many wonderful benefits of yoga become a normal part of your life

A personal practice, designed to address your individual needs is the best way to practice.

A personal consultation and a few private classes will set you well on your way to developing a personal daily practice.

Anyone can practice and benefit from Yoga. But, no two bodies are the same, so no two people will respond the same to any given practice. An individualized approach is the best way to integrate yoga into your daily life.

To Begin, book your consultation and Perri will guide you the rest of the way.  Appointments are now being made for January.

A Meditative Practice will continue to be offered monthly, Saturday mornings 9:00-10:00:

January 12, February 9th, March 8 & April 19

The Lecture Series will begin at 7:00pm.

March 24, April 21, & May 12th

Each lecture will explore a different subject from Patanjali’s Sutra’s. The specifics will be posted on the web page over the Holiday Break.

Please sign up for the lecture and meditative classes. Although these classes are free, a donation for the KIVA Organization would be greatly appreciated. For details on KIVA please visit their web page, www.kiva.org.

Assistance Needed: I am putting the word on a couple of topics I am hoping you may be able to help me with.

It has become apparent that many health care providers, and the population at large, are not well informed as to the many benefits of Yoga. There is great confusion out there resulting in mis-information and hesitancy to practice yoga.  We would like to rectify this situation as best we can. We are hoping to arrange “Health and Wellness through Yoga” presentations to organizations, and/or health care providers. If you have a contact that might be interested please forward their information to Yoga with Perri.

Notes from Perri:

I am thrilled with the way Krishnamacharya’s teachings have merged into our practice. I know my training in India has made me a better teacher and I am truly grateful for that. It will continue to be my intention to offer you programs that TEACH you how to be present in body, mind & breath both on and off the mat. I hope to continue to inspire and encourage you to make yoga a part of your daily life so you discover how this Universal and timeless practice is personal and relevant in your life.

I thank-you for continuing to inspire me and teach me on my journey, for this teachers greatest teacher is her students - That’s You!!!

In closing a huge thanks to Corina, Gillian and most especially Greg for getting the fall program well underway while I was in India.
